The Alpha course is primarily a tool for introducing the Christian faith to people outwith the church. However, it is also aimed at anyone interested in finding out more about Christianity or who are seeking answers to questions they have about God, Jesus, faith etc. Many people who have started coming along to church have found the course helpful as have people who have a long history of church involvement but who are wishing to refresh their faith. The course explores the basics of faith and, hopefully, helps individuals to grow in faith.
At Cathcart Trinity we organise Alpha courses each year, usually at Easter and also in September. The course lasts 10 weeks and each week consists of sharing food together, listening to a talk on a different aspect of the Christian faith, and having an opportunity to discuss thoughts and ask questions informally in small groups. The team also organizes a follow up course to encourage people to continue on their faith journey.
