Being over a certain age, Alison and I each have a B&Q Diamond
Card which entitles us to 10% off all purchases, provided
they are bought on a Wednesday. There’s always a catch!
On occasional Wednesdays you will see us in the B&Q store
at Darnley.
Recently we each received a flyer from B&Q advising us
that the store had over 500 “can do” products
to make every day tasks easier”.
The flyer focused on certain products:
• a bath chair lift
• grab rails with handy removable soap storage
• easy lever taps, to avoid gripping and twisting
• an electric built-in oven with a side opening door
• a cooker chimney hood controlled from a hand-held
unit
• a plug-in smoke alarm
• a custom-built stair lift
• a three-prong activator to loosen and break up the
soil before planting without having to bend down
• a vibrating door chime kit which gives an audible
and visual message that someone’s at the door
• a “home easy remote control socket kit”
which lets you turn on lights and appliances from the comfort
of your armchair or bed.
Alison and I don’t feel that we need any of these products
– yet!
One of the many plus points of the Christian faith is that
there are no age barriers or restrictions as to belief.
It is up to the individual to believe, at any age, in God
the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Sixtieth birthdays
are not specifically identified in the Bible.
B&Q “can do” products may be a boon to us
some day but …your Christian life, and mine, should
be a boon to us every day, particularly if we can cultivate
and adopt a “can do” attitude!
Remember….‘You can do it if you put your mind
to it!’
