I studied at Glasgow University and was ordained in 1991 when I was called to be the minister of Lorne and Lowland Church in Campbeltown. In 1997 I moved to Hillington Park Church in Glasgow before becoming minister of Cathcart Trinity in 2003.
The main emphasis of my ministry has always been preaching and teaching as I have a desire to see people come to faith in the Lord and to grow in their faith. I am also convinced that ministry is something that each individual Christian should be involved in and therefore I have sought to develop a team approach to ministry encouraging individuals to recognise their gifts and to offer avenues where these gifts can be used within the local congregation.
Prior to ministry I worked as a primary teacher and then had the privilege of being a full time wife and mother.
My university training was at Glasgow where I studied for 3 years. During this time I served in the congregations of Newlands South and Carnwadric, as well as a summer in the chaplaincy at the Victoria Infirmary. My final placement was spent at Hillington Park and following a few months as locum there I was appointed to the Associate Minister’s post in Cathcart Trinity in 2004.
My role allows me to take part in the whole life of the church. I have a particular interest in serving the local community and seeing the church at its heart.
It is challenging and exciting to be part of a wide variety of worship experiences every week and to be serving in a congregation that is willing to embrace change for the sake of the gospel. The emphasis upon team work suits my style of ministry which reflects the belief that all Christians are called to serve and to use the gifts they’ve been given for the building up of the church.
